Cranberry Season is Here!

Now that our favorite organic cranberry farm (Starvation Alley Farms in Long Beach, WA) has brought in their harvest we are swimming in berries! We just love this new shared appetizer: Herbed Fromage Blanc with cranberry jam and housemade gluten-free crackers. Chef Jake makes this lovely soft, lightly herbed cheese right here in the kitchen. Paired with the tart cranberry jam and the lightly salty and crisp crackers it’s the perfect appetizer to share as you sit around the fire with your friends. Also look for cranberries in our Harvest Cranberry Mojito and as a cranberry compote with the Swedish cream for dessert–they might even creep into the cardamom-toasted pecan muffins for brunch tomorrow!

When Ann and Tony Kischner opened the Bridgewater Bistro in Astoria after 25 years operating the Shoalwater restaurant in Seaview, They transformed an 1896 waterfront building, right at the base of the mammoth Astoria-Megler Bridge into one of Astoria's most dramatic dining rooms, where seafood takes a starring role. The kitchen takes advantage of what's fresh and seasonal–including what is grown on site. Savor each bite as night descends on the Columbia.
